lighthearted banjo and squeezebox into the loneliest choir that accompanies the smoldering voice of David Eugene Edwards. Often likened to Nick Cave and
the Bad Seeds, 16 Horsepower definitely has that laudanum-soaked aura, but is firmly rooted in Americana. Unlike their contemporaries, however, they aim

Gabriel and the Lunatic Lover is the first in a series of collaborative releases by Marc Almond (Soft Cell) and Michael Cashmore (Current 93). The duo sets
to music two poems by Count Stanislaus Eric Stenbock, the extraordinary 19th-century gay writer whose bizarre life of decadence, drug-addiction, alcoholism,
and poetry (coupled with Satanic, vampiric, and Catholic obsessions) led to his early death at the age of 36 in 1895. Stenbock’s final years, it is said, saw him
accompanied everywhere by a life-size wooden doll that he believed to be his son. This two-track CDEP features vocals from the legendary Almond and
music composed and performed by Cashmore. The CD is housed in a beautiful full-color digipak that contains previously unpublished paintings of Almond
by Russian artist Vania Soutavliov, a rare photograph of the enigmatic Count, and the complete texts to both poems. 2008.

Vinyl LP pressing. In the wake of Crass, the UK birthed a large scene of Anarcho-Punk bands such as Subhumans, Rudimentary Peni, Flux Of Pink Indians,
and, perhaps the best known of all, Amebix. Their seminal Arise album, originally released in 1985, remains one of the genre’s ultimate statements, featuring
elements of Black Sabbath, Motörhead, and Venom infused with a healthy dose of early Punk’s gutter grime and Crass’ confrontational imagery. Prior to
Arise, Amebix released their early material on Flux Of Pink Indians’ Spiderleg imprint. These recordings came in extremely limited runs, and were bootlegged
to death in the ensuing years, while the original master tapes languished in lockdown at Southern Studios. The band finally got their tapes back nearly 25
years later, and now the songs are collected officially for the first time. No Sanctuary: The Spiderleg Recordings gathers the sought-after cult releases No

Finally, after a three-year wait, Slim Cessna’s Auto Club readies Cipher, their fourth full-length on Alternative Tentacles. Dubbed by Jello Biafra as the
‘Country band that plays at the bar at the end of the world,’ Cessna and co. present traditional American music like Country & Western and Gospel straight
up, without contorting it to suit Cow Punk or Alterna/Indie Country sensibilities. With their earnest approach and raucous live shows that feel more like
religious revivals of a bygone era, Slim Cessna’s Auto Club has widened their reach considerably beyond their hometown of Denver, Colorado, making

Henderson, Tennessee’s Jeffrey Novak is a name familiar to those who pay attention to the whole lo-fi-garage-punk underbelly of today’s indie scene. He’s
released a handful of singles and at least one album on labels in the US and Europe as a one-man-band and with his former group, The Rat Traps. He’s been
at it for nearly five years and he’s barely in his twenties. Cheap Time is his newest and most serious endeavor to date. Founded with Jemina Pearl and
Nathan Vasquez of Be Your Own Pet, Cheap Time set out to recapture the essence of teenage schlock rock scuzz of such heroes as Redd Kross and The
Runaways. Along the way, members shifted, as did the band’s direction.

2008 reissue of The Failure, a two-disc, homegrown demo full of Dolan’s earliest work. Originally released in 2003, the revised Failure has been trimmed
down by a disc. Dolan conceived of (and co-founded) the Knowmore.org website with former slam teammate and friend Sage Francis. Faced with the
original demo’s wide scale release, Dolan undertook the task of completely reworking the Failure. After the original self-release, Dolan disappeared from
poetry slam to pursue more overtly musical projects, as well as his own contribution to social justice work. Strange Famous.

the guitar and his voice, Kelly crams the lilt, lift, and longing of several lives well lived into five-some-odd minutes of every song. Not only would this record
not have been possible at any other point in his life, or ours, for that matter, than now, it also seems to suggest the shape of beyond-now: thin and on fire.

Throughout the 1970s, legendary American composer Terry Riley toured regularly in Europe, performing solo organ concerts. In October 1978, Riley’s
personal technician Chester Wood built a stereo digital delay out of an ancient computer he had procured from Don Buchla, and the subsequent tour was the
maiden voyage to try it out. Riley’s specially modified two-manual Yamaha YC-45D portable combo organ had a Just Intonation setting and allowed him to
feed stereo signals to the digital delay. The Yamaha had been manufactured with single mono output, but now with the modification it had a separate output
for each manual eventuating in four channels (two live and two delayed).
